Our THOW is weeks away from being complete

After 9 years of talking about it and the past 12 months waiting and saving money for it, we are FINALLY getting our THOW in about 6 weeks.  My husband and I are SOOOO EXCITED!!!! It all feels like a dream and not really happening.  If it is a dream, please don't wake me up.

My husband and I have been married for 9 years and for our entire marriage, my husband has dreamed of living in a Tiny house... Me, not so much.  My husband would bring up the topic every few months and show me all the research and ideas he has for our future house.  I wasn't too interested and made him put his plans back on the shelf for another time.

My husband brought up the topic again in the first week of March of 2021.  For whatever reason, I was ready to say yes this time and we jumped right in.  We both got a 2nd job and found an AMAZING local builder.  My husband and I have both worked 80+ hours a week, 7 days a week for the past 12 months to earn the $32,500 for our Tiny House.  With our super hard work, we saved that amount in 10 months and now are working on saving money for living expenses and other expenses we will need for our THOW.

There have been 2 major delays in getting our house built.  It took almost 9 months for our builder to get the axles. After he got the axles and got them on the trailer, we have been waiting for the highway patrol office to have an opening to get the trailer inspected.  Our builder texted us last night that he finally was able to get an appointment for next week.  Once it is inspected, our THOW will be completely built in about 4 weeks.

My husband and I are walking on cloud 9 right now!!!! After years of waiting, it is finally happening in a matter of weeks.  I'm almost in happy tears just thinking about it.  I'm so happy!!! I know I will just get happier and happier as the weeks and then days roll by.

What were all of your feelings when your Tiny House was just weeks away from being yours???

EDIT: Our Tiny House is on wheels and is 8&1/2 feet wide by 20 feet long.  It will have a full kitchen and a full bathroom with a bedroom loft over the bathroom.  I think it will be 13&1/2 feet tall on one side.  It will have sky lights, solar panels, 2 types of hearing sources  (one to use for above freezing temperatures and one to use for below freezing temperatures) and an AC. We are planning on the interior theme to be a mix of cottage and rustic.  I will post pictures when it's all complete.

We don't have a place to park it yet.  We currently live in a town house and the contract expires in July so we have until July to find a place.  We have one or 2 possibilities in town but my county has A LOT of restrictions when it comes to tiny houses.  We might have to look one county over.

Hugs from my girls

For those who are reading this and don't know, I lost all 4 of our children between 6-24weeks of pregnancy.  I lost Micah at 24weeks in February 2014, Alison at 6weeks in May 2014 and twins Heidi and Noah at 8weeks in August 2015.  My husband and I have special stuffed animals for each of our children.  Micah's is a white and brown spotted dog.  Alison's is a white lamb.  My husband picked out a blue pterodactyl dinosaur for Heidi (which fits her perfectly) and Noah has a tan bear.

I work at Walmart and I do the shopping for those who order online. The other day though they had me help in Seasonal.  I had to help put up Easter items on the shelf.  My heart was breaking looking at all the things I would not be able to get my kids for the 8th year.

As I was putting up a box of stuffed animals, a little white lamb caught my eye.  I had the overwhelming need to hold that lamb.  My heart and arms physically ACHED for that lamb.  That lamb came home with me that day.  I KNEW it was my Ally Girl giving me a hug.

The next item I unboxed was Easter baskets with dinosaurs on them INCLUDING blue pterodactyls.  I chuckled because I KNEW those baskets DEFINITELY came from my Heidi.  She too was giving me a hug.

I LOVE getting hugs from my kids.  They always come when I need them the most.

Here are pictures of my kids special stuffed animals and then pictures of my girls hugs.

BIG PLANS FOR 2022

Welcome, 2022!!! I have BIG plans for you!!!!

The First BIG Plan is for me to complete my Bachelor's degree. I have been working on my Bachelor's degree off and on since 2003. I started it at the University of Central Missouri and then worked on it a little bit more with the Pathways program. But things always came up so I was not able to complete it.  In November of 2019, I started working for a company named SYKES Enterprises. One of the benefits of this company is that, after working for them for a year, they pay 100% of the tuition if you attend a certain online university. After working with them for a year, I took advantage of the opportunity and I started at the University of Arizona Global Campus on November 24, 2020. So far I have taken 9 classes and have received A's in ALL 9 classes!!! My highest grade was a 98% in Statistics for Managers!!! YES...I received an A in a "MATH" class!!! Unbelievable, right???!!! I still can't believe that grade sometimes. I have to go back into my grades and look again to make sure it's really true. HAHAHAHAHA!!!

I currently have 8 more classes to go, but I will be taking 3 of those classes through a 3rd Party service. This will leave me with just 5 more classes to go!!! It feels so good to be so close to this accomplishment. I wish Grandpa was here to see it. I know he's looking down on me and watching, but it's not the same.

The Second BIG plan is to attend my graduation ceremony in Arizona in October!!! Up until a few weeks ago, the headquarters of UAGC was located in San Diego, California. The Headquarters have now been moved to Chandler, Arizona. I was really hoping that my graduation would be in San Diego. Since I grew up in Orange County, California, having my graduation in San Diego would be like "going home" for me. Oh well, it's ok that it's in Arizona. At least there will be a graduation. That's the important part.

So far, it will be T2, Jason, and my mom coming with me to the graduation. I will be inviting others, but I don't know if they will actually come or not. We will most likely be getting an AirBNB and be staying about a week in Arizona. I will have more details as the date gets closer.

My Third BIG plan is to adopt a dog!!! As a graduation gift to myself, I have decided to adopt a dog..actually, Jason and I live together currently, WE will be adopting a dog!!! I am SOOOO EXCITED!!! With all the different animals that I/we have had growing up (cats. rabbits. cockatiels, iguanas, rats, hamsters, fish, etc) we have NEVER had a dog. I have always wanted a dog but we always had other pets instead. It has been a long time since I have had a pet and I REALLY miss having one. The apartment complex that Jason and I live in allows you to have up to 2 dogs. SOOOO...after I complete my Bachelor's degree Jason and I will go looking for a dog to adopt!!! I CAN'T WAIT!!!!

LET'S GET THIS PARTY STARTED!!!
